Amadou Sanneh has pulled out of the race to become the United Democratic Party’s flagbearer, throwing his support behind his old friend, Lawyer Ousainou Darboe.

Mr. Sanneh withdrew from the race at the last minute as the party’s chosen trio prepared to go head-to-head in the primaries.

A party insider told Gambiana: “Amadou Sanneh has withdrawn from the race and he now backs Lawyer Ousainou Darboe.”kasuba

This means Darboe will battle for the leadership position against the party’s leading lawyer, Borry S. Touray.
