Amadou Sowe scored a brilliant brace to inspire Greater Tomorrow Football Academy to a crucial 2–1 victory over Steve Biko in the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League on Sunday at the OSFF Stadium in Yundum.

Amadou Sowe opened the scoring early to give Greater Tomorrow the lead, but Steve Biko’s Ebou Sama leveled the match from the penalty spot, marking his 10th goal of the season.

Sowe, however, was not done as he netted his second of the game to seal a vital three points for the Brikama-based side.

The win pushes Greater Tomorrow to 13th place on 31 points, just one point away from securing safety and avoiding relegation heading into the last round of the league.

Elsewhere in the league, Fortune FC thrashed GAF 3–1 at Boxba Mini Stadium, with Mustapha Jallow scoring twice to help his side secure second place with 51 points.

Marimoo Parkfood keeps their slender survival hopes alive thanks to a narrow 1-0 win over Falcons who slipped in their fight to finish as the league’s runner-up.

Banjul United edged Hart FC 1–0 to keep their narrow survival hopes alive. Team Rhino and Gambian Dutch Lions played out a goalless draw.

With one round remaining, the standings show a fierce relegation battle as Team Rhino sit 11th with 33 points, Gambian Dutch Lions 12th with 32 points, Greater Tomorrow 13th with 31 points, Armed Forces 14th with 28 points, Banjul United 15th with 27 points while Marimoo Parkfood are rock bottom with 25 points.
