The former ruling APRC has called on the  Barrow government to engage Upper River Region’s Serahuleh communities in peace talks to end caste based conflicts in the region. 

The party’s advice comes after a number of caste based fights in the region which resulted in some people sustaining injuries.

Fabakary Tombong Jatta, APRC interim leader said at a news conference on Wednesday: “the current tension within the Serrakuleh community in URR is cause for concerns and must be taken seriously with a view to amicably resolving the matter through dialogue.

“I strongly advice that representative of all sides be engaged as a customary have dialogue to peacefully resolve the matter.”
