
A lifeless body of a new-born baby has been found dumped in a drainage gutter in Tallinding South, sparking concern among residents.
The baby’s corpse was discovered by a caretaker of the Tallinding South ward office, who reported the incident to the ward’s councillor.
A disturbing picture shared with Gambianashowed the unclothed baby wrapped in a piece of wrapper clothing.
Karamo Ceesay, the ward councillor of Tallinding South, who was informed about the incident, announced: “We discovered a lifeless baby inside a drainage behind the Ward Development Committee (WDC) Office this morning.”
“In my capacity as the Councillor and Chairman of the Ward Development Committee (WDC) for Tallinding South Ward, I have contacted the relevant authorities, including the Tallinding Police Station and the Public Health Department, for further appropriate action,” he added.
