Bakary Badjie, National Assembly member for Foni Bintang, has criticised President Adama Barrow for failing to adequately address the country’s worsening security situation during his recent State of the Nation Address (SoNA).

While President Barrow reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening internal security and urged the public to support law enforcement by providing information, Badjie said the president’s remarks fell short of offering concrete solutions.

“He didn’t address anything on security. He only told us to reinforce the security sector and empower them,” Badjie told reporters after the address.

“But how does he intend to challenge the insecurity we are facing as a nation, and the constant killings in the country? That is what we are asking from the president, but he actually failed to tell us that,” he added.
