Bakary Bunja Darboe has asked the Barrow government to stop its exorbitant expenditure to save the country from plunging into deeper economic misery.

Mr Darboe served as Gambian vice president during Jawara government. He later fled the country few months after Yahya Jammeh overthrew Jawara in 1994.

In his Eid message, the leader of Gambia For All said: “GFA is appealing to the authorities to take this great Tobaski spirit on board, and focus on the priority needs of Gambians by  reducing unplanned and unnecessary government expenditures that continue to create for us economic misery and social hardship.

“GFA remains committed to engaging Gambians in creating an enabling environment for peace, progress, and national prosperity for the benefit of all Gambians.”
