Banjul City Council has purchased new vehicles and trash cans to help make collection of garbage within the city.

“The Council will be embarking on a new system for Garbage collection commencing 22nd of June, 2021.

“During the exercise, residents shall be notified in writing (by means of flyers) of the days and time of collection,” the council said in a statement.

“Banjul City Council kindly request the cooperation of residents in the following matters: Garbage is to be placed outside the compound gates on allocated days. 

“Garbage should be in receptacles. Sand and stones should not be included in the garbage

“In order to provide a more efficient and viable service, collectors will not be entering any compound to collect garbage. In the service of the community, we will continue to remain!” the council added.
