Banks in Gambia have suspended Saturday services in a bid to control spread of coronavirus.

The decision comes after the Bankers Association wrote to the Central Bank of Gambia to make the day a non-working day.

The temporary suspension is expected to last during the 21 days nationwide curfew put in place by the government to fight the pandemic. .

The new stipulated working hours for banks from Monday to Thursday is from 8am to 3pm, while Friday is from 8am to 1:30pm.
