The Barra Ferry Terminal is thronged with people and goods as they return to the Greater Banjul Area from celebrating the Eid al Adha festival.
Hundreds of locals are now returning from their home towns and villages, making the Northern river crossing point a challenge.
Despite having the two ferries plying still demand for transportation between Banjul to Barra is so high.
Mutarr Mendy told Gambiana that: “It’s not easy to cross here at this time but I have no choice but to bear the challenge.”
But other people who spoke to Gambiana said the public holiday even minimise the challenge of crossing.
However, no wooden boat was seen plying yet on the river.
Many commuters do take the wooden boats for transportation if they found no ferry docking at the harbour.
