President Adama Barrow today challenged his new cabinet to develop a culture of high-level performance and productivity and to show results within an agreed time frame.

Barrow made the call while presiding over the swearing-in ceremony of his cabinet that included dozens of ministers, head of civil service and vice president at the State House in Banjul.

“I challenge you to develop in your ministries a culture of high-level performance, productivity and results within agreed time frames,” President Barrow told the new crop of senior government officials.

According to him, cabinet ministers are generally considered to be political appointments but added that they have to ensure their ministries are run by competent staff with the right professional administrative structure.
