President Adama Barrow has faced criticism for its lack of action over the deadly coronavirus as its spread in neighbouring Senegal.

The president is accused of inaction for not reassuring the Gambian people with an address outlining his government actions in keeping people safe from the virus.

Senegal’s President Macky Sall have ordered the closure of all schools and universities and cancelled religious festivals in measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Gambia has no confirmed case of the virus yet but people are worried that it is a matter of when and not if the virus will be spread to the country given the close proximity of the two countries and the porous borders that separate them.

Gambians took to Twitter to express their concerns about the lack of information and reassurances from the Barrow government.
