President Adama Barrow has today handed out 20 ambulances to the Ministry of Health. 

The new ambulances for the health sector is part of the president’s pledge to hand out 70 ambulances for community health service delivery.

 “We made a commitment, and we followed through on it today,” President Barrow said. 

“We are appealing to all Gambians and community members to support the community ambulance services. I am thrilled to have such a service in the country that will significantly improve access to health care.”

Health minister Dr Ahmadou Samateh added: “The initiative includes the procurement of 80 ambulances and today mark the inauguration of 20 ambulances. 

“This new fleet of fully equipped ambulances will be distributed today the 13th September 2021 to the communities.”
