President Adama Barrow has hit out at his critics as “jealous people” who do not care about developing the country, but rather care about their selfish interests.

Mr Barrow told a crowd at the inauguration of bridges and roads in Basse, Upper River Region which was attended by thousands of Gambians including government officials as well as  Chinese diplomats.

The multi-million dollar aid project is funded by the Chinese government.

The president told the gathering that Gambians will see his proper developments after the December presidential election, saying what the nation is seeing now are “some of his minor developments.

“We are not here for a child play but to work. These developments are just a tip of the iceberg, but actual work will start when Gambians get to the polls on December 4th and voted for the NPP, that was when you will see the real work.”

“I am saying this because this is a Coalition government some wants me to work and some do not. Those who do not want me to work are the ones who wanted to unseat me,” he added.
