President Adama Barrow has laid the  foundation stone for the $50 million OIC urban roads project in Brufut.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Barrow said: “the project can only be successful if the contractors, consultants, and beneficiaries are committed.”

According to him, the project will include the installation of solar-powered street lights,adding that this will be remembered in the history of urban milestone in the development infrastructure for the OIC summit in 2022.

Yankuba Dibba, CEO OIC Gambia, said: OIC Gambia secretariat is continuously seeking meaningful partnerships to ensure “we leave an enduring legacy in every aspect of Gambian lives.

“Today’s event is a testament to that, as we are gathered here to witness a significant milestone in the start if civil service works of the 50km Urban roads project, under this project twenty(20) new modern roads will be constructed across the West coast region and the Kanifing Municipality.”
