President Adama Barrow has met with the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres at the UNGA in New York. 

Barrow and Guterres discussed progress made on the ongoing constitutional review and transitional justice processes i the Gambia, and UN support to those efforts. 

They also exchanged views on UN-Gambia cooperation and efforts to further accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. 

Earlier on Thursday President Barrow addressed the 79th General Assembly session 

where he called on world leaders to step up efforts to end Israel’s genocide in Gaza and wars in other countries. 

“We must explore all diplomatic means to restore lasting peace worldwide and free all innocent people, particularly women and children, from the calamities of war,” the president said.
