President Adama Barrow has turned his latest campaign message to voters into a stark choice between keeping his government in power and starting again with a new administration, as the December 5 presidential election draws closer.

Addressing residents in Bakadaji during his ongoing Meet-the-People Tour, President Barrow said voters would decide whether to continue with his administration’s development programme or take the country in a different direction.

“The election is about two things: continuity or starting afresh, going forward or backward,” Barrow said.

The President urged residents who want his development agenda to continue to vote for him, while saying those seeking change have the option of choosing another candidate.

Electricity and roads featured prominently in Barrow’s appeal, with the President telling communities still waiting for electricity that projects to connect them had already been prepared.

“We have already studied all communities that are yet to be connected to electricity,” he said.

“The projects have been tendered, contractors secured, and work is about to start. You will see work equipment on the ground before the election.”

Barrow also warned residents against being swayed by campaign promises from political opponents, using a food analogy to argue that a government that has already delivered should be trusted to complete its programme.

He defended his administration’s infrastructure record, particularly the durability of bridges constructed during his tenure, saying they were built to serve communities for generations.

“Anything you want from this government, you can get it,” Barrow said.

“I know that you cannot be fooled and cannot be bought.”
