President Adama Barrow has sacked minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Ousman Bah.

“The President, acting under Section 71(4)(b) of the Constitution, relieved the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Ousman Bah, of his duties,” the Gambia government said in a statement.

However, the government statement did not give any reason for his sacking. But Mr Bah has been criticised recently of underperforming in the role.

Information minister Dr Ismaila Ceesay has been tasked to oversee the ministry of Communication and Digital Economy.

Similarly, President Barrow has designated Professor Pierre Gomez, Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology as overseer of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education following the resignation of Haddy Jatou Sey. Ms Sey resigned from the post for personal reasons.
