President Adama Barrow has described winning seats in the upcoming local government elections as important for his National People’s Party to bring developments to locals.
According to him, opposition mayors and chairmen only hinder and detour progress of his government in their localities, but added that once his party secure the seats it will make development progress more easier.
“I want all the seats and all the seats are important to me. You know why because if I get all the seats will make my work easier.
“Because if you have a mayor who is in your party, it makes work easier. But if you have a mayor from the opposition, it will hinder your work. So, we need all the seats who will listen to government,” he said.
Barrow’s National People’s Party is in preparations to take key seats from its arch political rival, United Democratic Party in the upcoming May local government elections.
