President-elect Adama Barrow has thanked Musa Trawally who walked 470 kilometres from Basse to Banjul in nine days to congratulate him.

“Receiving a young Gambian man, Musa Trawally, from Sare Pirasu in Basse Costituency in the Upper River Region, URR, who trekked 470 kilometers in nine days to congratulate me on my election victory, was a combination of emotions for me,” Barrow said on his Facebook page.

“Musa has demonstrated extraordinary love for The Gambia and me, and his bravery will be long recognised in the history of this country.

“Musa’s conduct has reaffirmed my determination to serve the Gambian people, especially in light of the sacrifices he and many others have made and continue to make for The Gambia,” he added.

“I call on Gambians in all walks of life to take similar commitment to work for the advancement of the country,” he said.
