Towns and villages in the Gambia have been hit by shortage of bread amid bakers protest over rising cost of flour.

A source who spoke to Gambiana on condition of anonymity said: “bakers decided not to bake breads because price of flour has gone up.”

“And the bakers are now demanding that in order to bake they will increaase price of break from D7 to D10,” the source added.
