A pressure group known as Coalition of Progressive Gambians (CoPG) has suspended their November 11 protest after the Supreme Islamic Council brokered mediation.

The group had planned to stage a protest against high food prices and corruption in the Barrow government.

However, the group officials told reporters at a news conference today that they are calling off their planned protest. 

They said the Barrow government has agreed to their demands.
