Senegalese music icon Thione Seck has died on Sunday aged 66, reports local media. 

He was said to have died in hospital after a short illness, reports Senego.

The legendary musician is the father of Mbalax superstar Wally Seck. 

Seck comes from a family of “griot” singers and started his music career with Ochestre Baobab. But he later formed his own band, Raam Daan which he still heads.
