Sainabou Cham has been re-elected unopposed as President of the Gambia Women’s Football Association following the withdrawal of the opposition, Team Tahawal, from the 2025 executive elections.
Cham, leading her team under the banner “Sustainable Women’s Football Development in The Gambia,” swept all executive positions uncontested after Team Tahawal pulled out, citing allegations of constitutional malpractice.
The newly confirmed executive team is as follows:
President – Sainabou Cham
1st Vice President – Ramou Ndow
2nd Vice President – Mbemba Camara
Treasurer – Fatou Ndow
Secretary General – Ebrima Ceesay
The unopposed elections have sparked conversation about the electoral process and internal politics within women’s football governance, as calls grow for greater transparency and inclusivity.
