The owner of a pharmacy in Bundung that has been repeatedly burgled expressed security concern after thieves broke into it again on Friday night.

The man who does not want to be named in the media told Gambiana exclusively that thieves have been breaking into his pharmacy for the past years.

“This is not the first time. The thieves have been breaking into my pharmacy for the past years and we have been reporting the matter to the police. So this time I decided not to report the matter,” the owner said.

The Gambia has been beset by a surge in crimes including thefts and burglaries.

Many have linked the worrying crime increase to growing unemployment rate and high cost of living.
