The Ministry of Health has said thirteen male and one female have died of Covid-19, taking the country’s coronavirus death toll to 77.

But the ministry added that not all the 14 deaths happened on the same day.

“This is the 122nd national situation report since the confirmation of the first case of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in The Gambia, on the 17th March 2020.

“14 new Covid-19 related deaths recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to 77 – a crude case-fatality ratio of 3.4%. Not all the said deaths occurred on a single day as sampling dates spanned from the 14th to the 17th August (14th- 6 samples; and 4 samples apiece for the 15th and 17th),” the Ministry of Health said.
