Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, leader of the United Democratic Party, has promised  free university education for all Gambians if he wins the December election. 

“My government’s first 5 years will be to get money for them to have free University education and the Arabic schools (Majilis) will also not be left out as they play a major part of the country’s educational sector, this is part of our plan,” Darboe told a rally in Upper River Region. 

“If you want to become a plumber or pastry chef, we will support you with your training. We want the youth to complete their training and my government will have budget so that they can have the support to explore their talents.”

Darboe said his government will empower the livestock sector with a range of support package including exporting sheep and cattle.
