Ousainou Darboe, the leader of United Democratic Party, has said that President Adama Barrow’s government is more corrupt than the regime of former President Yahya Jammeh.

Speaking at a campaign rally, Darboe asked President Barrow to tell the nation his source of finances and how he bought himself expensive vehicles, arguing that  Barrow’s salary can’t buy him those expensive vehicles.

“He [Jammeh] troubled the citizens of this country and he was interested in entrenching himself in power, but the Gambians stood to ensure that the government changed and brought a change that will benefit the country.

“But all what the people were against, apart from disappearance without trace all what was happening during the past regime, today what’s happening is worse than the past regime. Today the rampant corruption in this country supersedes Yahya Jammeh’s regime,” Darboe said.

“We want to know the source of those vehicles because his monthly salary can’t buy him those vehicles.

“And we said if he doesn’t answer our question, then he is into corruption. Because the reason why we sent away Yahya Jammeh and Barrow is following the same system, even worse than that,” he added.
