The leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP), Ousainou Darboe, has boasted that his party will lead the next government and nothing will stop it from achieving that objective. forming the next government.

The UDP leader has ruled out any form of coalition in the next presidential election and that his party will be aiming to govern alone.

“Nothing will stop the UDP from forming the next government or at least from influencing the next government. Well, contenders are getting many and it’s possible coalitions will be formed.”

Darboe, who was addressing the party’s national youth congress, urged supporters to rally behind the party and strengthen their electoral gains.

“UDP’s target is not 51 per cent. We want more than 51 per cent. That should be UDP’s target for the next election and you have to start working for that now.”

The party’s youth wing held a congress on Saturday in Gunjur, Kombo South to elect a new national executive.
