Lawyer Ousainou Darboe led prayers before jetting off to Europe with deputy Aji Yam Secka.

The trip comes weeks after his controversial re-election as UDP leader.

Darboe is gearing up for a 2026 rematch with President Adama Barrow, an election he claims was rigged in 2021.

Their rivalry dates back to 2019, when Barrow controversially sacked Darboe as vice president.

In Europe, Darboe will address party members, particularly in diaspora communities, seeking to ease internal divisions.

The journey signals the UDP leadership’s determination to stay united ahead of the next national election.
