Opposition leader Ousainou Darboe is still refusing to concede defeat despite losing the December 4 presidential election by a wide margin.

Darboe secured 28% of the national vote trailing second to incumbent president Adama Barrow who won with a huge majority of 53%.

The party has rejected the results citing irregularities without any evidence despite the election being deemed to be free and fair by local and international election observers.

In a statement issued today UDP said it’s team of “legal, collating and experts are still at work”.

UDP urged supporters “to disregard any information that does not come from the apex body of the party.

“We will also do frequent updates from now on until the matter is resolved.”
