Gambia’s minister of information has declared the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation summit underway in Banjul a success.
Speaking at a news conference this evening at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre, Dr Ismaila Ceesay said so far everything ranging from protocol, security, accommodation and transportation are working smoothly.
“The event is a success so far so good. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it will continue like this. We have no doubt that it will continue like this and come May 5 on Sunday when the event is over. Everything so far is in place. 57 member-states are represented, logistics is in 100%, security is in 100%. So as we speak there are no glitches and there are no problems,” he said.
