Drivers have called off their strike after the government agreed to their demands.

“We wish to inform the public that we have cancelled the sit-down strike after having a meeting and agreement with the Gambia government towards meeting our demands,” Gambia Transport Union’s president Omar Ceesay said.

“We agreed that the government will constitute a task force to access and help come up with tangible strategies towards the implementation of your demands.

“We are glad that the government took this approach and we hope to see the realisation of the agreement,” he added.
