A stalwart of the United Democratic Party (UDP), Ebrima Dibba, has issued an open challenge to fellow party member Pa Manneh to swear on the Quran and let God curse the liar and their family.

In an audio clip obtained by Gambiana, Dibba fumed over what he described as relentless attacks on his character by Pa Manneh, adding that no senior party member has ever condemned him.

Dibba, known as one of the party’s most loyalists, famously abandoned his post at the Gambian consulate in Saudi Arabia to stand by Lawyer Ousainou Darboe after he was dismissed from his vice-presidential role in 2019.

The UDP has recently been mired in internal divisions over its flagbearer selection, despite decisions already being made.

“You have all heard Pa Manneh attacking and accusing me, and no one in the party has ever come out to condemn him. My only concern is to uphold the party’s principles,” Dibba said.

“I challenge Pa Manneh to call me anywhere, and we swear on the Quran and let God curse anyone lying and their family,” he added.

Pa Manneh has yet to respond to Dibba’s open challenge.
