Elite United booked their place in the final of the Gambia Football Federation Division One Promotion/Relegation Playoffs after defeating Baalor Sarr FC 4-1 in a dramatic penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Musa Tamba broke the deadlock for Elite United two minutes into the second half, giving his side a 47th-minute lead and putting them on course for victory.

However, Baalor Sarr FC refused to give up and found a dramatic equaliser in the 90th minute when Omar Colley struck, forcing the contest to penalties.

In the shootout, Elite United held their nerve, converting four spot kicks while restricting Baalor Sarr FC to just one to seal a 4-1 victory.

The result sees fourth-placed Elite United eliminate third-placed Baalor Sarr FC and advance to the playoff final, where they will face TMT FC for a place in next season’s GFF First Division.
