Essa Faal has confirmed that he will not be contesting the upcoming National Assembly elections.
Faal, who contested the December 4 presidential election, came fifth securing only 17,206 of the total national votes.
The former TRRC lead counsel ruled out contesting the parliamentary election saying that it’s costly to run political campaigns.
“All our campaign was funded by ourselves from our humble resources. It’s been a bit financially challenging.
“If we now want to participate in parliamentary elections, it would be very tough. But we would reassess our situation and see what is the best thing for us to do,” Faal said at a presser on Monday.
