Papa Faal, one of the rejected presidential candidates, has endorsed president Adama Barrow’s bid for re-election in December polls.

Speaking to reporters, the former US Army Lieutenant pledged support to President Barrow saying that they have agreed to support him as he develops the country.

“I have endorsed President Barrow because of the respect and honour he has for my late grandfather (Former President Jawara),” he said.

Seedy Njie, deputy spokesperson of the National People’s Party (NPP) welcomed Papa Faal to Party while noting that his coming will add value in the party.

He said Papa Faal didn’t come to the NPP just to see the president win the election but to transform the country to the next level.

Papa Faal was among the December 30 attackers on the state house in 2014. Faal and a group of US based Gambian dissidents were tried and jailed in the US for their involvement in the failed coup.
