The family of the slain HM staff, Fatoumatta Kargbo, is to demand justice for her through a peaceful demonstration as well as calling for the government to ensure public security and safety.

The late Fatoumatta Kargbo was killed last month by a suspected Senegalese man who allegedly stabbed her to death while attempting to rob the HM bureau.

The suspect has been charged with murder and is set to appear before a high court judge.

Uncle Ousainou, who is a biological uncle to the deceased Fatoumatta Kargbo, expressed his disappointment about the government’s earlier decision to reject their request to hold a peaceful demonstration.

“We demanded a permit to hold a peaceful demonstration to vent our pain and demand justice for our victim, but this request has been denied by the government, which is disappointing. We are very saddened about her tragic death. She died in Jihad. We are living the pain of Fatoumatta’s death and we are yet to see any tangible justice because we allow the authorities to do their investigation,” he said.

Lady Cox, also a family member, added that they are demonstrating to “express our concern because the country is no more safe because before Fatoumatta so many people felt victimised, and this is what we want to express to the government to take steps and ensure the security of everybody.”
