Landing Badjie, who served as The Gambia Inspector General of Police, has died. 

The former police chief died on Thursday in Dakar Senegal. His cause of death was not released. 

He was also a former senior officer at the UN-AU mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID). 

Landing Badjie, or 13 Badjie as he was affectionately known by colleagues and friends alike, was a veteran police officer and had served The Gambia Police Forces for several decades.

Mr Badjie has been described as a “dedicated public servant, a courageous and outspoken defender of whatever ideals and principles he believed in and a patriotic citizen in every sense of the word.”
