The former Secretary General and Head of Civil Service was retired not sacked, State House clarifies in a press release.

The president’s office said in a short press statement that Mr Jallow retired on 25 May 2020 at the age of 60 years. 

Nuha Touray, a former cabinet secretary and close aide of former president Yahya Jammeh, was appointed to the post of Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service.

“Mr Jallow has now been appointed as Deputy Executive Secretary at the Senegalo-Gambia Permanent Secretariat,” State House said.
