Alhagie Kanyi, a former soldier and one of the most brutal killers during Jammeh’s reign of terror, has confessed to his crimes in a testimony to the TRRC. The man, nicknamed Mofala (the killer), said he was following orders when he committed the extrajudicial killings and asked for forgiveness from the Gambian people.
