The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) has announced the death of Captain Oumie Saine, who passed away on Sunday (29 June).

Captain Saine was serving as the Second in Command at the GAF Officers’ Mess in Kotu until her untimely passing.

In a statement issued today, GAF expressed deep sorrow over the loss, extending condolences to her family and loved ones.

“During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with her family,” the statement read. “The entire GAF prays that Almighty Allah grants the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace.”

Her burial is scheduled for Monday, 30 June 2025.
