The Gambia and China have signed a multibillion dalasi economic and technical cooperation.

Foreign Minister Mamadou Tangara and the Chinese ambassador to The Gambia signed the D1.2 billion agreement on 

November 5. 

Tangara said The Gambia had benefited in the bilateral relations with China and cited the sectors the country’s has made improvements such as agriculture, infrastructural development, health and education.

He stated that Ambassador Ma has been very instrumental in pushing forward the ambition of “Build The New Gambia,” adding that more high quality projects would be initiated under the signed framework agreement.

Ambassador Ma Jianchun said the agreement was another milestone in strengthening the economic and technological cooperation between the two countries. 

He said China would continue to work with The Gambia in further strengthening bilateral cooperation and creating opportunities for peoples in both countries.
