Gambia football team has chosen Saudi Arabia as training base camp for the upcoming African Cup of Nations tournament. 

The Scorpions will be training in Saudi Arabia, in a city yet to be determined, from December 27 to January 5, Gambiana has learned. 

The team will play their final friendly match before the AFCON tournament against Morocco on January 7 in Rabat. 

The players will then return to Banjul to meet President Adama Barrow, for the traditional presentation of the flag before flying to Ivory Coast on January 9, four days before the AFCON tournament.

Ivory Coast will host the Africa Cup of Nations tournament from January 13 to February 11, 2024. 

Gambia will face Senegal, Cameroon, and Guinea in Group C.
