The Gambia has made a significant jump in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking following the Scorpions’ impressive start to the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.

The Scorpions have climbed seven places to 109th in the world, making The Gambia one of the biggest movers in the latest ranking released by FIFA on Wednesday.

The rise follows back-to-back victories over Somalia and Ghana in the opening two AFCON 2027 qualifying matches.

The Gambia defeated Somalia 2-1 at the Independence Stadium before producing a stunning comeback to beat Ghana 4-2 in Accra.

The latest ranking also places The Gambia 25th among African nations, with the Scorpions now on 1,182.64 points.
