Almost 2,963 coronavirus cases are known to have been recorded in The Gambia since the emergence of the virus in March 2020, as 68 people tested positive for the virus newly.
“68 new cases registered taking the total number of COVID-19 cases ever confirmed in the country to 2,963. This represents a 34.2% test positivity rate (68 out of 199 total tests performed). The median age of the new cases is 39.5 years (range: 4 to 78 years),” the Ministry of Health said.
“199 new laboratory test results received from MRCG and NPHL of these, 21 new tests returned indeterminant. 281 new recoveries registered, bringing the cumulative number of recoveries, to date, to 1,032 (34.8% recovery rate).”
