The Gambia coronavirus death toll has risen to 50 after seven more people died with the virus. 

The seven people who died recently from suspected coronavirus were added to the official coronavirus death toll after their test results came back positive. 

Samples were collected from their remains and all seven of them posthumously tested positive for the virus, Ministry of Health data revealed.

“Samples from all 7 were collected posthumously. The median age of the new fatalities is 60 years (the age ranges from 43 to 73 years),” the Ministry of Health said.

The country’s coronavirus case is now 1,477 with 50 deaths.
