The Gambia senior football team kicked off their AFCON qualifiers on Wednesday night with a 1-1 draw against Comoros.

Gambian talisman and captain Musa Barrow scored an equaliser with a colourful free-kick after Comoros M’Changama’s spectacular free-kick.

The high tempo match, played in El Jadida, Morocco, saw both side fought to lead Group A as players made several attempts to find the back of their opponents net.

Alieu Fadera almost plunged fans into a frenzy with a last minute opportunity to put the Scorpions in the lead but failed to make it.

The Scorpions will now take on Tunisia on Sunday for another qualifier match – as race to the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 gather pace.
