The woman alleged to have killed her boyfriend at the Bakau Friendship hostel,  has made her first court appearance.

Kumba Sinyan appeared today (27 Oct.) before Justice Seedy Jobarteh of the Banjul High Court.

Sinyan is accused of killing her boyfriend, Lamarana Jallow at the Bakau Friendship hostel in September.

Jallow, an IT expert, was a former staff of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce in September.

Sinyan told the court that she doesn’t yet have a legal representative but her family are working on getting her a defence lawyer.

The state prosecutor Aziz A Saho informed the court that Sinyan’s case file with the police was yet to be transferred to the Attorney General Chambers.

He then sought for the court to adjourn the case to allow the state to prepare themselves.

Justice Seedy Jobarteh then granted the state request for the case to be adjourned.

The case will be heard on Tuesday 4 November.
