Abubacarr Tambadou has resigned from the position of Justice Minister and Attorney General, Gambiana has learned. 

A source confirmed that he is leaving because he is expected to start an international job soon. 

There is no official statement yet from either the Justice ministry or State House on Mr Tambadou’s resignation. 

Tambadou has been serving in the position since 2017. He has faced both commendation and criticism during his tenure.

He received international recognition for his Rohingya campaign and won a landmark genocide case at the International Court of Justice against Aung Sang Sui Kyi’s Myanmar.
