
The Gambia Navy has arrested two fishing vessels for operating without valid safety certificates.
The vessels, FV Betty and FV ILE AUX MIMOSAS, were intercepted during routine maritime patrols in Gambian territorial waters.
According to the Navy, both vessels were found in violation of maritime safety regulations, prompting their immediate arrest.
The Gambia Armed Forces said the action reflects the Navy’s continued commitment to safeguarding the country’s waters and ensuring compliance with maritime laws.
The Navy has warned all operators to obtain valid safety certificates and strictly adhere to safety regulations.
